The Story Of Farm 12®

The name Farm 12 embodies a sense of place and purpose– it’s rooted in history and is increasingly well-known by the community, near and far.

Farm 12 began its story as the historic Van Lierop Bulb Farm #12, known for its rich land, beautiful sunsets and five generations of family farmers that graced the Puyallup community for over 120 years. Family farms have been a centerpiece of community and culture for generations. Through each season, 12 months a year, farms are local cornerstones providing economic growth, nourishment and a sense of community.

Though this farmland has been re-purposed, its heart and soul remains the same. Farm 12 is a place to work and play, grow, learn, and belong. It’s the modern family farm – bringing people together around a shared purpose to cultivate a thriving and connected community.

Community Donation —

Thank you for taking the time to contact us on behalf of your organization. Farm 12 Restaurant & Events is a social enterprise of Step By Step Family Support Center. Farm 12 Restaurant & Events was built to preserve a historic piece of farmland, enrich lives and holistically strengthen families, create job opportunities, be a gathering place for our community, and ultimately, produce profits to fund the mission of Step By Step.

We would love to support every cause, business, and person. However, because of our unique position of being a nonprofit ourselves, we are unable to donate to every request. Our Community Donations Committee will be using the following stipulations to make their decision.

  • Organization must be a 501(c)(3) status and within 10 or 15 miles of The Germaine Korum Center/Farm 12 Restaurant & Events.

  • Priority will be given to organizations that support healthy children and healthy families.

  • Secondary priority will be given to organizations that help bridge the gap for families: i.e. major inequalities, job opportunities, etc.

The committee will meet during the second week of every quarter. Please submit your requests at least three months prior to the event date. Donations will be reviewed the first week of each quarter and will be approved by the second week of the quarter. Donation requests received after the first week of the quarter will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis and dependent on any extra funds for that quarter.
